From August 10 to 18, at the invitation of Mekong Institute (MI), Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC), together with The Belt and Road Research Institute (Shenzhen) for International Cooperation and Development (BRRI) and the China Center for Special Economic Zone Research, Shenzhen University (CCSEZR), invited 6 experts to deliver online modular training on Measures for Management and Promotion of Special Economic Zones. A total of 26 participants from China, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam participated in the training.
Six experts from BRRI, CCSEZR and China Development Institute (CDI) shared knowledge on an extensive range of topics, including "Post-epidemic Era, Opportunities and Challenges of the Mekong River Special Economic Zone", " The Industry Development and Its Spatial Relation: A Case Study of Shenzhen" and so on.
Experts and participants also discussed specific issues faced by each country in developing SEZs. More sharing and training on SEZs are to be expected in the future, as MI, SFIEC and BRRI recently signed an MoU, to roll out field missions, information exchanges, and research studies and to inspire socioeconomic development of the Lancang-Mekong countries.
