On Oct 23rd, with the support of the Shenzhen Charity Federation, Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation donated 100,000 pieces of surgical masks to Kyaukphyu district of Rakhine State, Myanmar.
The masks will be received by the Donations Receiving and Supplies Committee of Kyaukphyu District within the next few weeks to help protect the local people against COVID-19.
This donation came at a time when the global pandemic has resurged and taken a bad toll on many countries, with Myanmar being a hard-hit country. According to John Hopkins University as of Oct.27, in Myanmar, 35,662 new cases and 921 new deaths of COVID-19 were confirmed in the past month, bringing the country’s confirmed cases to 44,774.
